Works Foreman

Works Foreman (Marine) – Perm – Gosport – Up to £40,000 p.a.

We are currently looking for a Works Foreman to join our expanding team.
Our clients are a leading independent yacht refit, repair and maintenance service centre providing high-quality service and workmanship with an experienced team consisting of shipwrights; joiners; marine engineers and riggers. They are equipped to cover all manner of works from annual maintenance through to full refit accommodating vessels measuring up to 40m. They are also the accredited Nautor’s Swan Authorised Service and Refit Centre and Hinckley Yachts Service.

The Role:
– Have a good knowledge of the current and upcoming workload
– Assist with planning the weekly schedule
– Implement schedule ensuring all staff know what they should be doing & when
– Keep a close eye on the team ensuring they adhere to the schedule and answer any queries that may arise
– Regular job updates to Estimator
– Assist with ordering and ensuring required materials are available as and when needed
– Monitor staff including progress, attitude and quality of work
– Quality control of jobs
– Portal management by way of making sure engineers/staff update their hours daily
– Tool and equipment management, care and maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
– Extensive Marine Industry experience is a must
· Experience of working in the luxury yacht industry preferable
· Excellent leadership and communication skills
. Good organisational abilities
· Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
· Understanding of quality processes.
· Ability to listen, understand & follow instructions.
