Mechanical Technician – Permanent – Kent

As a Mechanical Technician you will be responsible for providing a high degree of technical expertise across a broad range of the port’s assets and systems, while also having the ability to diagnose and rectify faults of a complex nature and work on own initiative. You will be assisting the Management team in ensuring that assets are maintained and repaired effectively, efficiently and to the appropriate standards of safety.

The successful candidate will have:

• Completed an apprenticeship to minimum NVQ Level 3 and associated C&G’s
• 3 years post trade-qualification experience in relevant discipline (desirable)
• Previous experience with hydraulics, heavy machinery and welding/fabrication
• Experience of reviewing and creating RAMS
• Previous experience of completing mechanical assessments and fault diagnosis
• Good level of IT literacy
• Ability to work and co-ordinate with other disciplines
• Be able to deal with highly stressful situations
• Full UK driving licence
