GRP/Paint Repair

GRP & Paint Repair specalist (Marine)- Permanent- Gosport- £25,000 to £35,000 DOE

We are currently looking for a GRP & Paint Repair specialist to join an expanding team of dedicated craftsmen.
Our client are a leading independent yacht refit, repair and maintenance service centre providing high-quality service and workmanship with an experienced team.

· Fill, fair and finish damaged GRP/fibreglass and painted surfaces
· Recognise and understand chemicals and materials used in repair processes.
· A thorough understanding of GRP finishing and associated processes.
· Colour repairs, large distortion repairs, forming profiles and shapes.
· Paint repairs processes
· Maintain immediate work area to an acceptable and safe standard.
· Experience of using the tools of the trade. Electric buffers, extraction unit, routers, grinders, electric drill, long boards etc…
· Competent with the application of gel in disciplines such as gel repairs, new job complete re-gel & wax gelling
· Competent at using fillers on the side of a large job and being able to longboard (fair) to the correct shape prior to gelling
· Competent at reverse repairs with laminating skills

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

· Experience of working in the luxury yacht industry preferable.
· Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
· Good team player and excellent communicator.
· Understanding of quality processes.
· Ability to listen, understand & follow instructions.
