CAM Engineer (Furniture)

Furniture CAM Engineer (Marine) – Permanent- Peterborough- £50,000

Navis consulting have an opportunity for a motivated individual to work with a team of programmers to digitize/reverse engineer existing patterns from boat builders in order to, add or create a new job pack for CNC using AlphaCam to batch for CNC production. The individual will also work with design and production to gain information for updating existing CNC programs.

Key responsibilities:

• Create CAM data, for cutting on the CNC machines using AlphaCam.
• Liaise with CNC cell for updates and changes to programs.
• Use of digitizing machine / reverse engineer paneling to update existing programs or create new programs
• Batch job packs for CNC cell.
• Updating programmes and job packs.
• Exporting of DXF files to the design custom team as and when needed for design to update existing parts to release back to production.
• Managing supporting data for downstream processes.

Experience required:

• Experience reading and understanding technical drawings
• Proficiency in AlphaCam Advanced, Automation manager.
• Experience of working with 3D models.
• Understanding of the capabilities of Homag/Biesse CNC Nesting Machines
• Experience using Woodwop and Prodim software.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, and problem solving abilities.
