An expedition cruise line is looking for a Fitter to join the team in September.

Reporting to the 2nd Engineer, you will carry out repairs or maintenance work as well as assist the Officer of the Watch when assigned to watch-keeping duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs and maintenance work as instructed senior engineers.
  • Fabricate metal structural parts.
  • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of engines and mechanical equipment.
  • Support the shipboard organization and safety organization.
  • Carry out assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Perform any tasks for which you hold particular skills or experience.
  • Keep yourself informed of ISM manual and other company related publications.
  • Report incidents, near misses, and/or dangerous situations to the Safety Committee.

Requirements:

  • You must have sailed as a Fitter on ships and passenger experience will be advantageous.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Hands-on mentality

Mandatory documents:

  • Certificate of Competency Rating Able Seafarer Engineer 111/5
  • Basic Safety training
  • Designated Security Duties
  • Seafarer Medical
  • Covid-19 vaccination
  • Diploma from an accredited maritime training school or facility
