Technical Advisor - Air Quality (Ports) - Permanent - Kent, UK - £Excellent package
One of the UK's leading ports is recruiting for a Technical Advisor with Air Quality expertise to join the team in the newly modernised head offices in Gravesend.
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and Environment, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the day to day running of the port within the Environment team and a chance to contribute to a thriving port in a thriving environment
Key responsibilities will include;
- To lead on the provision of air pollutant information and minimise the Company’s impact on air quality, across the Company’s estate and operations
- To lead on technical input to the scope, screening and collection of data used for environmental assessments of projects and third party applications to ensure they are in accordance with the Company’s statutory duties, policies and other environmental legislation and responsibilities
- To lead, develop and monitor emission reduction improvements with the Company’s estate, for pollutants alongside the Senior Advisor and to ensure compliance with relevant mitigation measures and conditions.
- To undertake relevant technical and scientific research in order to provide advice and present reports for publication.
- To lead multi-disciplinary project teams comprising internal officers and external consultants and other experts.
- To represent the Company and its interests at public meetings, consultation workshops, conferences and events on relevant topics.
- To report the relevant environmental performance to the board and exco and recommend improvements.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant environmental subject.
You must have recent experience within a senior role in the delivery of projects in air quality, along with good communication skills. Influencing and networking skills are essential.
Experience in the maritime sector would be beneficial.

Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications
Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
Please sign up for STCW courses and obtain the certificates if you don't have them yet.
