USV Pilot - Saildrone

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of navigation during all USV operations
• Passage planning and weather routing
• Ensure that the USV equipment is fully functional and report any defects
• Maintain logs during operations
• Conduct maritime operations Risk Assessments
• Safe launch and recovery of USV
• Aide development of USV type specific operational procedures
• Mobilisation and maintenance support
• Training of USV pilots
• Comply with Company safety rules and training, conduct operations safely and report any unsafe condition or practices immediately.
• Adhere strictly to the Company's procedures and policies

Skills Requirements:

• Good understanding of maritime regulations
• Excellent communication skills
• Genuine interest in maritime autonomy and future technologies
• Willing to travel internationally as required by the project
• Must have strong computer skills
• Good understanding of satellite communication systems

Experience, Competency and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience sailing offshore on yachts
• RYA Yacht Master Ocean Cert or equivalent
• Must have or be able to obtain all industry required certificates to work offshore (STCW/BOSIET)
• Must be able to obtain a valid passport and/or visas to travel internationally
• Teaching experience and qualifications (such as Yacht master instructor)
