Principal Energy Engineer (Cruise) – Permanent – Southampton – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major cruise line based in Southampton. Our client are investing significantly in initiatives to reduce on board energy consumption and this is a rapidly developing area.

This role is responsible for delivering the technical analysis and understanding of the initiatives required to support the required improvement in Energy Efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with ship staff & shore based stakeholders to ensure an accurate understanding of the current energy baseline is developed
• You will advise and lead necessary changes in operation of existing ships including but not limited to fuel consumption performance and energy efficiency projects
• Deliver & manager projects related to energy efficiency on board all ship sin the fleet
• Assist the planning, preparation & project management for initial scoping of ship refits and wet docks within their areas of responsibility both technically and budgets.
• Associated project budgets (capex) for assigned energy efficiency initiatives (up to £4.5m in value)

Experience required:

• Degree or equivalent in a suitable technical discipline
• Understanding of the structure & implications Flag State, USCG & IMO rules & regulations in particular to Energy Efficiency / Carbon consumption
• Experience in analytics; in particular to assist technical investment decision making
• Experience of budget management
• Project management experience of technical project delivery
• Charted membership of a professional institution (desirable)
