Dry Docking Superintendent (Netherlands) - Permanent - 54000-60000 EUR NET
One of our leading Marine clients are currently looking for an experienced Dry Docking Superintendent to join their team, to be working from the head office in Netherlands. This client is a well-established company currently employing an excess of 1500 crew and staff worldwide, responsible for a diverse fleet of over 100 vessels in total.
The Dry Docking Superintendent will be reporting to the Group Fleet Manager or the Regional Managing Director, as well as work closely with the Regional Technical Manager and Technical Superintendents. The role involves 30% travel and 70% working office, with all travel expenses paid for and flexibility available when it comes to working from the office.
As a Dry Docking Superintendent you will monitor and lead the coordination of various dry dockings using your technical, financial and administrative skills; as well as support, lead and provide training to local Technical Superintendents during preparation and execution of dry dockings.
Duties:
Ensure all specifications are in line with company standards.
Observe and amend all administrative process related to dry dockings.
Plan and arrange dry dockings in line with quality standards, agreed budgets and time periods.
Monitor commercial negotiations with shipyards and subcontractors.
Assess the activities and the performance of 3rd party contractors and vendors.
Perform pre-inspection of dry-docking facilities.
Examine shipyards in the preparation phase, throughout the execution of the docking and arrange final invoices.
Supervise the budget in contrast of the expenditure.
Monitor dry docking evaluation reports.
Commit to vessel inspections and provide assessment reports on the status of the vessels.
Amend and implement the technical (new build) standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Maritime engineering or Naval Architecture.
STCW Certificate of Competency III/3, with minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer, on vessels of >6,000 KW.
Previous experience of working in dry docking environments, including planning and executing skills.
Budgeting, planned maintenance and project management skills.
Be an experienced professional with technical abilities who can set and maintain high standards.
Be a team player with good communication skills, who can guide engineers on and offshore.
Must be able to travel frequently.
English and Dutch language skills are necessary. French and/or Portuguese is considered a bonus.
