Navis Consulting are recruiting for an experienced cruise staff chief engineer to join their clients fleet on a permanent basis. Purpose of Role is to act as the Chief Engineer’s deputy, responsible for Engine department management and maintenance.

Overview

• As part of the senior engineering management team ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all machinery;
• As part of the senior management team take an active part in dry dock planning and special projects as directed by the Chief Engineer and shoreside management;
• Assist in the generation of the engineering operating and Capex budgets. Provide effective management of these budgets through efficient stock control and purchasing;
• Maintain an overview of maintenance being carried out across the vessel as a whole, especially where this impacts other areas and passenger disruption;
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the leaders of other departments. Work effectively as a senior management team to ensure efficient and effective maintenance planning and execution;
• Management of maintenance of lifeboat/tender propulsion machinery, all hydraulics, damage control equipment, emergency generator engine;

Person Specification:

• National Chief Engineers Licence (CoC) A-III/2
• High Voltage Certificate
• Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats A-VI/2.1-6
• Advanced Firefighting A-VI/3
• Medical First Aid A-VI/4.1
• Crisis Management and Human Behaviour A-V/2.3
• HELM A-II/I (Table A-II/I) or Engine Resource Management
• Basic Safety Training (PST, EFA, FPFF, PSSR)
• Yellow Fever Vacination
• Covid Vaccinated

Offer

• 2 Month on 2 Month off Rotation
• Permanent Contract – Salary paid on board and at home
