Marine Superintendent (Tankers) – Permanent – Barrow/Glasgow – Competitive package

This is a great opportunity to join a reputable ship management company. The role will be on a hybrid working basis with an anticipated 2-3 days a week in the office (Either Barrow or Glasgow) with the remainder WFH

Responsibilities include:

• Provide leadership and professional operational support in the delivery of the Marine Services Contract.
• Acts as DPA/CSO for fleet.
• To deliver a high standard of nautical expertise to Marine Services derived from extensive experience in industry, the acquisition of senior marine qualifications and the maintenance of high professional standards.
• Conducting regular reviews of operations, monitoring and taking action to ensure targets are met, including submitting accurate and timely reports to line manager.
• Bi-annual inspections of vessels and report on same with follow ups.
• To drive operational efficiency, assurance improvements and best practice across the fleet in conjunction with Contract your peers, planning for the effective management of risks.

Experience Required:

• STCW II/2 Master Mariner (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency Proven seagoing experience at senior level
• Management Representative in relation to ISO requirements
• In depth knowledge and application of ISM code – Preferably ISM lead Auditor Qualification
• People management in a unionised environment
• Development and management of Safety Management Systems Vessel audits – both internal and external to TMSA standards
