Land Cable Engineer – London

I am working with a large telecommunications company in London and they need a Land Cable Engineer to join the team.

There will be a lot of travel in this position to worldwide sites and travel to the London office when required.

Responsibilities include:

• Project planning and cost management
• Customer liaison
• Identification of suitable local resources and subcontract management
• Conduct site surveys including earth resistivity measurements
• Engineering design of Land Cable and System Earth installations
• Production of drawings for installation including Land Route Diagrams
• Site survey, on site and as-built reporting
• Unrepeatered system testing, both on land and at sea
• Jointing and testing of Land Cable, Beach Joints and System Earths
• Cable Termination to Terminal Station Equipment
• Liaison with the Cable factory and Project Managers
• Detailing procedures and completing H&S Risk Assessments

Experience / Qualifications

• Type-C Land Joint Qualification
• Knowledge of fibre optics and electrics
• 2 years or more relevant work experience with preferably an engineering background
• Laser Safety, Power Safety and Confined Spaces Training
