Technical Superintendent (Cargo Ships) – Permanent – South Coast, UK – £55k plus car & benefits

Due to an upcoming retirement, Navis Consulting are working exclusively with a reputable Shipping company based on the south coast of England to source a new Technical Superintendent. The role would suit a hands on engineer who would rather be out and about, as opposed to being office bound. The nature of the role is largely spent visiting vessels / trouble shooting / ship repairs.

As Technical Superintendent you will monitor and control the smooth operation of all vessels assigned and handle the provision of the required technical support and maintenance, in order to achieve the desired levels of operational performance.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Some previous experience as a Technical Superintendent working with a ship-management/ship-owning company is preferred but not essential.
• Preferably a Chief Engineer/2nd Engineer CoC with senior sailing experience
• Experience with Drydocks
• Strong knowledge of industry rules and regulation
• Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic, positive and good team player
• High sense of initiative, professionalism and responsibility
• Flexibility to travel frequently at short notice (Mainly Europe)
