Marine Engineering Projects Support – London

A large telecommunications company is expanding and looking for a Marine Engineering Project Support person to join their team in South London. Providing the marine engineering group and the wider business with a dedicated interface to access the marine engineering assets, you will also provide support on their use and be an interface to marine expertise, resources and experience through engagement with key marine supply chain elements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performance support of Marine Engineering Assets including 3rd party vessels.
  • Support the business in the selection, procurement and mobilisation of equipment with a focus on Post Lay Inspection Burial, Pre-Lay Grapnel Run and route clearance on 3rd party vessels.
  • To interface with Project Groups to manage and coordinate the delivery of project-specific equipment spread on 3rd party vessel in respect of the goals/deadlines.
  • To provide support and expertise to project groups on installation methodology and capability of assets and spreads.
  • To develop and adapt documentation resources regarding the capability methodology of deployment of engineered solution and marine product.
  • Implementing company strategies related to engineering improvements and investments across the fleet.

• Marine ‘know-how’, innovation and competencies management, including all supporting documentation control and coordination of documentation.
  • Support the management and updating process of the company marine technical library for the installation of company product.
  • Consolidation and streamlining of marine installation technical descriptions.
  • Distillation of discipline-specific Marine Technical documentation for business support requirements (e.g. Sales & Marketing, Bidding, IPMs, Maintenance).
  • Reporting of Marine Engineering activities and Marine operation HSE performance to the business
  • Support the Technical Resource Manager in business continuity and daily management of company & agency reps.
  • Training and management of company MIIG documentation and updates.

Experience / Qualifications:

• Familiarity and understanding of marine operations and installations processes.
• Relevant experience in the offshore industry (Telecom, O&G, renewable).
• Practical Offshore experienced valued
• Ability to identify and manage processes coordination and solutions for multiple stake holders across the marine operations activity.
• Highly developed and disciplined documentation management skills.
• Computer skills are required – Microsoft Project will be very beneficial
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a crossfunctional team environment.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
• French language skills valued

You could also be post grad in Survey Marine Sciences, Marine Operations or have a junior vetting/auditing career in marine.
