Marine Mechanical Design Engineer (Compliance) – Permanent- Oxfordshire- £35000-£40000

Navis Consulting have an opportunity for an individual that has an acute eye for detail across the production line and can work closely with all departments to gather information to make sure all regulations and documentation is being complete. Based just outside Oxford our client produces high quality RIBs/Tenders for the leisure and commercial sectors. I am looking for a unique individual to lead by example to support the design department whilst making sure the maintenance of high quality products are within the marine regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist development projects and support design team
  • Making sure all new and existing products meet the relevant international regulations and standards including CE, NMMA and SOLAS
  • Responsible for developing product specifications whilst maintaining accuracy such as user manuals, labels, declarations of conformity
  • Produce maintain and manage technical assembly and manufacturing drawings
  • Leading the launch of a new product such as water testing, organization of your team including scheduling of elements required
  • Provide technical support to production and sales departments

Experience Required:

  • Degree graduate level in formal engineering education
  • Experience in managing, testing and reporting conformity to regulatory standards
  • IT literacy in MS office and Adobe Suite
  • 3D CAD software experience
  • Understanding of general engineering and electrical systems
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes common to automotive and marine industries
  • Familiarisation of various moulding techniques/laminate schedules is an advantage
  • Open to experience in other industries

This is a permanent role looking for a passionate individual wanting to maintain regulations and complete documentation throughout the manufacturing process. This candidate must have good leadership skills and be able to communicate problems effectively. A background in design engineering with an eye for detail with the understanding of international standards.
