Chief Engineer (Ferry) – Hampshire

I have an immediate opening for a Chief Engineer to join a Ferry based in Hampshire on the South Coast. You can work at sea but still go home at night.

Initially working until the end of October, there is a chance for this role to become permanent.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical standards onboard and ensure effective implementation of the associated areas of the SMS.
• Ensure repairs are carried out in a timely manner and to a high standard
• Lead, motivate and develop junior officers, as well as develop a strong working relationship with the deck officers and ratings

Requirements:

• Ideally sailed as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer with a lot of experience
• Hold a minimum 2nd Engineer Unlimited Certificate but preferably hold a Chief Engineer CoC.
• Previous experience working with passengers would be beneficial but is not essential
• Effective leadership and communication skills are essential
• ENG1 and all STCWs up to date

Candidates should be living in a commutable distance to Hampshire as the position is not live on board.

You will be working 5 out of 7 days of the week.
