Duty Harbour Master – Permanent – Kent

As Duty Harbour Master, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of the port within the Board’s jurisdiction, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and to the standard set by the Harbour Master and Head of Marine. You will be a qualified class 1 pilot and will exercise the delegated powers of the Harbour Master in ensuring that Safety of Navigation is maintained to the highest standards (full training will be given).

The successful candidate will have:

• UK Harbour Master Certificate or willing to achieve the qualification
• Pilotage experience
• Marine management experience
• Knowledge and understanding of Port estate and infrastructure
• Willingness to work shifts
