Contract Manager (Temporary up to 12 Months) – Glasgow – Competitive package

This role offers hybrid working and is an excellent opportunity to join a global shipping company based in Glasgow. The role is to provide maternity cover and will likely last up to 12 months.

In this role you will work with other internal stakeholders to seek the overall most cost-effective solutions for sourcing of various technical products and services. Analise large sourcing initiatives and makes recommendations for best practices and cost savings based on Total Cost of Ownership analysis. This will involve initiation, analysis, negotiations, and management of spend, agreements and services.

Responsibilities Include:

• Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority
• Support the alignment of Planning & Performance objectives
• Co-ordinate all agreements and principal decisions with the Manager, Technical Procurement
• Negotiate and manage assigned contract suppliers for equipment and services in consultation with other functional owners
• Negotiate bulk and major purchases and ensure implementation and anchoring in the organization
• Formulate agreements for major vendors based on company Terms and Conditions
• Take all negotiations as close to the manufacturer and as high in vendor organization as possible, ensuring complete vendor agreement
• Seek best overall agreements based upon total cost, quality and service
• Assist in developing sourcing strategies for all major categories and vendors
• Supplier relationship assessment and management
• Assist in the development of policy for bulk purchase for high consumption and high-cost items

Experience Required:

• Analytical, problem solving, decision making, time management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner.
• Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills
• Strong personal drive
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
