Electrical Superintendent – Permanent – East Yorkshire – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable shipping company based in Hull. You will be responsible for looking after vessels in Hull and the surrounding ports.

Responsibilities include:

• Assists with preparation of docking specification, reports as well as maintenance.
• Supervision of electrical work and testing during surveys, dockings, overhauls and other repairs and timely communication with operational management on emergent issues affecting scope and cost of repair tasks.
• Liaise with Port authorities, Consultants, Shipyards, Contractors and Suppliers as required.
• Ensuring that electrical problems raised on-board the vessels in the fleet are promptly investigated and rectified in a safe and consistent manner.
• Verifying the vessels are compliant with relevant electrical legislation and requirements.
• With the ship’s engineer, partly responsible for the maintenance and updating of tasks on the ships HELM maintenance systems.
• Conduct periodic inspection, testing of safety devises and megger testing of all marine assets.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in capacity of Ship’s electrician or ETO or corresponding position (essential).
• Experience in shipbuilding/ship repair industry.
• Thorough understanding of Diesel engines, propulsion systems.
• Competent IT skills with a good understanding of Excel.
