Second Engineer (Minimum Y3)

The Client…
Client = 70m+ Private Motor Yacht
Home Port = Mediterranean / USA
Itinerary = Summer in the Mediterranean and winter in the USA and Caribbean.
Crew = Mainly yacht professionals from commonwealth countries and the USA.

The Role…
Job Title = Second Engineer (minimum Y3).
Responsibilities = Responsibilities will include overall management, maintenance and repair of this tricky engine room and ancillary systems ensuring the bridge has power when needed.
Urgency = the Second Engineer has just resigned - so start ASAP.
Rotation = Permanent position with 42 vacation days including 8 Cayman Islands public holiday to equal a total of 50 days leave per annum. Permanent position for a trial period of between 6-12 months. If the right candidate proceeds onwards, the client will look at a 3 months on, 1 month off rotation with a completely new setup of package.

The Person…
Minimum Qualifications = Y3 + Needs to have B1/B2 visa + Needs to have proper Seaman's discharge book + Needs to have Cayman Island Endorsement
Medical = Current ENG1 medical certificate.
Skills = practical, hands on, high work ethic, clean work space, common sense, easy to get along with crew, needs to be a hard worker as the vessel can be quite demanding at times with its busy schedule. The Chief Engineer needs someone who is reliable and in it for the career.
Experience needed = at least 1 season on a 40m+ Yacht is needed.

Salary = Salary: US$ 8000-8500 p/m DOE Tax Free and package includes return flight
