Technical Superintendent – Permanent – Liverpool – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leading shipping company based in their Liverpool office but also covering the port of Belfast. The role offers a competitive base salary and generous car allowance in addition to other benefits.

This opening is an opportunity to work covering a number of ports working closely not only with the Port Manager but also crews and operational staff as well as external stakeholders in demonstrating your business acumen.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure that all vessels in the port are properly maintained and ready to meet the operational requirements of the port and our service commitment to our customers.
• Management of the technical budget for the maintenance and dry dockings, including monitoring of and control of the costs of repairs and maintenance.
• To be aware of the need to keep within the budget for spare parts, fuel and lube oil usage.
• Assist the Technical Manager in the planning and co-ordination of maintenance, regular servicing, dry dockings and vessel upgrades through the designated service providers.
• Undertake planned maintenance systems.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

• Engineering qualification min Class 1 Motor Unlimited.
• Previous operational/management experience is required
• Marine experience including management of sea going crew is essential
• Strong IT and technical skills
• Experience of managing budget
