Head of HSQE – Permanent- Oxfordshire- £50,000

Navis Consulting have an opportunity for an individual with the want to promote positive H&S culture across the manufacturing site and work closely with all departments to gather information to help drive up quality standards throughout. Based just outside Oxford our client wants a unique individual to lead by example to mentor and motivate the maintenance of high quality standards to achieve an exceptional working environment for all staff throughout. Responsibilities:

• Carry out risk assessments and indicate where risks can be reduced
• Regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are met throughout
• Lead in house training to all staff
• Keep records of inspections and generate reports highlighting improvements
• Produce statistics for stake holders using records of incident and accidents
• Keep up to date with new legalization and any changes changes that may affect business
• All new equipment installed safely and organize safe disposal of hazardous substances from site
• Attend IOSH seminars and read profession journals
• Ensure suppliers are meeting standards
• Make improvements and collect data to back up findings to make sure both national and international standards are met
• Monitor product development to ensure no faults are to be found
• Regular audits of factory processes
• Manage the sustainability and set key objectives for each department to meet the companies sustainability roadmap

Experience Required:

• Education to a degree level
• Experience working in H&S role of a similar level
• Knowledge of culture change within an organization
• IOSH or equal to professional qualification
• Experience in completing H&S audits and implementing action plan to meet audit findings
• Organize workload effectively to meet deadlines
• Be flexible and respond to business needs
• Strong interpersonal skills
