Marine Services Manager – Permanent – Martigues, France – Competitive package

The main purpose of the Marine Services Manager- France is to ensure the highest level of service delivery throughout the France ports network, acting as first point of contact for all operational matters within the area of responsibility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for operational service delivery from all France port offices/locations
  • Assist in cascading group and regional strategy as appropriate
  • Monitor operations to ensure maximum quality whilst minimising cost
  • Monitor local performance in line with client based KPIs
  • Performance monitor response time scales to client and management
  • Ensure client specific working instructions are maintained and known to all operational personnel
  • Key lead in developing a France central control point (ROC)
  • Develop and implement a France Port Agency training manual and development program
  • Identify, recognise and secure new business opportunities within each port
  • Improve visibility within regional territory of existing and potential client base
  • Undertake regular client visits
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of France offices
  • Assist Port Managers in undertaking regular meetings with terminal operators
  • Perform employee performance reviews as per company guidelines
  • Identify and support training requirements and succession planning

Experience Required:

  • Excellent planning and delivery skills to ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved at all times and tasks are not only met but exceeded wherever possible
  • Ability to focus commercially to maximise business opportunities
  • Proven track record in achieving KPIs and leading teams to achieve company goals
  • Demonstrable experience within Maritime industry, particularly port agency
  • Ability to travel nationally when required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shift patterns including weekends and bank holidays when necessary
  • Experience in selling maritime services is preferable and can be used in place of lacking formal educational qualification
