Technical Superintendent (PMS) – Permanent – UK or Europe – Competitive Package

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding shipping company. The role can be based from the UK or Europe

You will have responsibility for the efficient and effective operation of assigned ships and to work as a member of the Ship Management Team with high exposure to the owners. Initially you will be tasked with writing and implementing a new PMS system across the fleet. The role will then evolve into a traditional Technical Superintendent position.

Responsibilities include:

• Plan and coordinate all activities connected with maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, conversion or modification of assigned vessels.
• Plan and coordinate all activities connected to class and flag state survey and certificate requirements and build and maintain effective liaison with relevant authorities.
• Assist the project team with modifications, upgrades & projects
• Monitor vessel performance trends including speed, fuel and lubricating oil consumptions, and implement timely remedial actions where these are outside agreed or expected parameters
• Provide effective leadership to Chief Engineer Officers
• Be responsible for Ships Engineering related budgets for assigned vessels

Qualifications / Experience Required:

• Hold Class 1 Chief Engineer Unlimited license
• Sailed in a senior rank at sea (Chief / 2nd engineer)
• Must have previous shore based experience as Technical Superintendent or ideally fleet/technical manager
• Experience sailing / managing passenger ships; RoRo, RoPax, Ferries etc (Preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of PMS systems and implementation of them (highly desirable)

The role can be based from the UK, Ireland, Cyprus or Northern Europe.
