Technical Compliance Assistant – (London)

Technical Compliance Assistant – Permanent – London – £25k – £30k plus benefits

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable shipping company in London that is experiencing a sustained period of growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Verify that the maintenance, inspection and defect reporting arrangements for vessels are operated in accordance with the requirements of the Company Safety Management System (SMS)
• Verify that routine Environmental performance reports are submitted on time and completed correctly
• Prepare and submit applications for US environmental permits (COFRs & NTVRPs)
• Understudy the Assistant Manager, Environment to develop a good understanding of the role and to provide Develop a good understanding of ISM requirements and the operation of the Company’s Safety Management System in order to provide mutual support to other members of the team.
• Verify that each vessel has assessed all ISM relevant and ISM critical equipment in accordance with the procedure set out in the SMS. Follow up and provide constructive challenge to address any perceived errors or omissions

Experience Required:

• Able to plan organise and administer own workload
• Ideally have a technical background/degree educated (Marine / Mechanical Engineering)
• Any experience at sea will be beneficial
• Proficient with the use of business IT systems, computer and cloud based apps
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Resident within daily commuting distance of London
