Engineering Policy & Documentation Manager (Ferries) - Scotland – Permanent – Highly Competitive Salary

A leading Ship Owner and Operator based near Glasgow is currently recruiting for an Engineering Policy & Documentation Manager to join the busy team.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering Performance & Policy, the successful candidate will delivering a comprehensive technical documentation strategy that will support the Asset Management Department's Vision of; "To deliver outstanding Technical Reliability in a safe and cost effective manner". 

Other responsibilities will include;

  • Review of all current documentation and processes, check documented process is in place and, where it is not, create process maps and documentation and ensure they are produced and populated on the Company Management System
  • Facilitation of workshops with key stakeholders to map current and future business processes
  • Where necessary define functional changes to business processes and assist with designing solutions
  • Ensure all documentation is written in accordance with Company Management System standards
  • Analysing and mapping the current technical documentation set (strategies, policies, processes and procedures)
  • Developing documentation, where gaps exist, in liaison with the directorate and any external stakeholders. Validate proposed solutions with business representatives and technical team to ensure solutions and restrictions are clearly understood & meet user expectations
  • Identifying and developing documentation required to support future maintenance management  system delivery (updates to, and generate of new, policies and procedures)
  • Capturing Process Maps and supporting documentation owners with updating departmental technical documentation to capture lessons learnt and any changes required due to updated OEM advice and guidance
  • Development of policy for the introduction of new and second hand vessels into service45
  • Capturing and managing Directorate Lessons Learnt to ensure they are identified and managed and a continuous improvement culture and processes are embedded
  • Any other duties required by the Head of Engineering Performance and Policy.

 

The successful candidate will have experience in a Business/Process Analyst/ Documentation production role or similar, have experience of business change and has strong stakeholder management skills.

You will be experienced in use of Microsoft suite of software with Microsoft Viso experience, in particular being desirable.

You will also have excellent communication and initiative skills, be solutions driven and be flexible and open to change.

All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
