Marine & HSE Superintendent – Permanent – Hampshire – Competitive Package

This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding shipping company based in Hampshire. This could suit an experienced deck officer looking to start a career ashore or someone who has already made the transition and looking for a new challenge.

In this role you will assist in ongoing development and implementation of the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) for the safe, legal, competent and commercially sound conduct of the Company’s maritime operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • To ensure the safe operation of the fleet in line with national and international legislative requirements
  • Promoting the Company Health and Safety culture on board.
  • Engaging with Masters / OBSOs on safety related matters.
  • Promoting internal and external H&S initiatives within the fleet.
  • Assist with personnel and training matters as required
  • To assist in the development and implementation of operational systems, processes, procedures and instructions enabling the Marine business to function as a competent Ship Operator.
  • Carry out routine and unscheduled inspections / audits on board Company vessels including sailing with vessels as required.

Experience Required:

  • Experience as a Deck officer in a senior role
  • Holds minimum Chief Mate Unlimited license or above
  • Experience sailing on Offshore vessels / Small craft
  • Previous shore based experience is an advantage but not essential
  • Company Security Officer Certificate (Preferred)
  • ISM lead auditor certificate (Preferred)
