I'm currenlty looking for multiple ROV Pilot Technicians for a project in the North Sea. 

The project will be starting on the 30/11/2021 and running till 20/1/2022

The Pilot Technician will be usuing Trenches. 

Please see details below;

  • Take responsibility for the systems efficient and safe operation during the Trenching Supervisors absence.
  • Be capable of launching and recovering the Trencher
  • Ensure that the Trencher is operated safely and in the correct manner at all times.
  • Assist in the management of all aspects of the Trencher team including allocation of work.
  • Observe the following priorities. The safety of personnel, safety of the vessel, safety of the Trencher and the execution of the project work programme.
  • In the absence of the Trenching Supervisor, co-ordinate the necessary maintenance, repair or overhaul of all equipment, ensuring that the Trenching system is running efficiently and sustained in a fully operational condition in readiness for any eventuality, i.e. planned or unscheduled projects.
  • In the absence of the Trenching Supervisor, immediately inform the Trenching Superintendent if the Trenching system is going to be or has become non-operational.
  • Assist the Trenching Supervisor with the system reporting procedures and returns to Van Oord.
  • Be fully conversant with the operation of all Trencher systems.
  • Be fully conversant with the maintenance, fault finding and repair of all Trencher systems.
  • Be fully conversant with the operational aspects such as host vessel maneuverability, weather considerations, current profiles and seabed materials.
  • Assist the Trenching Supervisor with the supervision and progression/training of subordinates.
  • Be prepared to adopt other duties within the remit of Technician as deemed appropriate by the Company.

Job requirements:

  • Must have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or merchant marine engineering cadetship.
  • Must be educated to a minimum of UK qualification level 4 (previously HNC).
  • Must have spent at least 5 years post- apprenticeship working in their chosen engineering discipline.
  • Must have at least 4 years’ experience working offshore with TROV systems.
  • Must have at least 400 hours pilot experience, with at least 200 of those hours on tracked trenching equipment.
  • Must be qualified to a minimum of IMCA ROV Pilot Technician Grade 2.
