Fleet Manager (Chemical Tankers) - Permanent - London - Competitive

A leading Tankship company with a global presence is recruiting for a Fleet Manager to join the team in London.

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager, this role is primarily responsible for;

  • Monitoring and controlling technical and operational activities through the safety management system.
  • Overseeing and supervising the Technical Superintendents and ship related communication and disposition of information and data, mentor and assist as required.
  • Preparing vessels OPEX & CAPEX budgets in co-ordination with Superintendents and submit to owners by the target date. Handling queries related to budgets & quarterly reports efficiently & timely manner.
  • Managing and overseeing the projects for the vessel upgradation and compliance to the regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring all incidents and major breakdowns investigation are done in timely manner, reviewed and lessons learnt are shared with fleet.
  • In coordination with the Operations Manager, responsibility for vessels’ oil major, CDI, USCG, Flag State, ISM audits and inspections performance.
  • The Fleet Manager is a key member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Reviewing suggestions for improvement for Health and Safety on board and discussing these with the HSEQ team if they are considered appropriate for the implementation.

The successful candidate will have sailed as a Chief Engineer on Chemical Tankers and have extensive previous experience in a management capacity ashore.

You will be organised and self-motivated, have good communication and inter-personal skills and have a desire to drive for continuous maintenance and operational condition of company vessels.

You will also have a deep understanding of technical operations for the vessel types managed, cargo handling equipment and systems on managed vessels.
