Job Description Accounting Manager with Stork:

Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and completing legal and accounting reporting requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities as Acounting Manager: 

Key Responsibilities

  • Focal point for external auditors 
  • Completion of annual statutory accounts 
  • Review and reporting of monthly Overheads
  • Annual Budget Submissions
  • Review of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Management of Sales, Purchase and General ledger sub-team
  • Host weekly Debt meeting 
  • Management of UK bank balances
  • Cash Forecasting 
  • SOX Compliance

 

Reporting

  • Manage and ensure accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for the Region and Business Units.
  • Ensure timely, accurate and adequate execution of financial administration processes, i.e. general ledger and reporting & analyses. 
  • Manage internal management information for the region.

 

Analysis

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual comparative analyses and prepare commentary and supporting documentation.
  • Manage and ensure data requests for audit purposes with external auditors.
  • Analyses forecast and budget submissions to ensure quality and predictability.

 

Financial Management

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheet and overhead review routines.
  • Involvement in intercompany reconciliation process 
  • Responsible for the assigned Chart of Accounts & General Ledger management for setting up, deleting and maintaining (natural) accounts and cost centers align with relevant counterpart to ensure Consistent Global Chart of Accounts.
  • Develop and maintain templates for (cash) forecast and budget submissions.
  • Supports ad hoc activities and projects.

 

Optimization

  • Support in opportunities for improvements and simplifications in the reporting and accounting process.
  • Identify and evaluate bottlenecks in financial processes, techniques and systems.
  • Make suggestions for improvement and ensure implementation after approval

 

Compliance

  • Drive and manage the SOX compliancy for certain end-to-end processes.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve internal control in business processes.
  • Proactively manage internal control requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.

 

Staff Management and Performance of Team

  • Lead, manage and develop a team within group HR strategy and policies.
  • Execute the Performance & Development Cycle regarding staff;
  • Help develop the skills of team members;
  • Identify opportunities and executes (process) improvements;
  • Report and discuss results according team plan

Specific Requirements for theAccounting Manager 

Education & Experience

Education

  • Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ICAS)

 
Experience and Skills 

Experience

  • Experience in a similar role within a multinational

Skills

  • Strong accounting knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Relevant business knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Management information knowledge
  • Good knowledge of Tax and Treasury (accounting) processes
