A large network company is looking for an Operational Planner and Technical Engineer to join their team in London. Here, you will be part of a dedicated team that manages the installation of telecommunications cable shore end activities worldwide. Your main responsibility will be maintaining the overall Shore End Installation plan of work across all projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain regular overall plans of work based on individual project plans. This will include associated plans for resources, both internal in-house solution and external subcontractors
  • Technical evaluation of subcontractors Method of Procedures, Plan of Works, Dive Plans, Health, Safety & Environment plans and associated operational documentation to ensure alignment with company requirements and lessons learnt
  • Assisting with cost pack submissions for the In-House Installation activities, forecast and completion costs tracking and analysis
  • Manage and maintain files and data base for all scopes of work, methods of procedure and technical descriptions, in conjunction with internal Purchasing and the Project teams; also ensuring H&S Risk Assessments are captured centrally
  • Support to the company’s Bid, Project and Permit teams with description documentation, design proposals, installation methodologies and guidelines.
  • Technical support for the company’s Bid, Projects, and After Sales for any Remedial works.
  • Planning and Technical support to the wider Shore End Operations team.

Requirements:

  • Computer literate – ideally with Windows/Microsoft office packages, with a sound working knowledge of MS project and resource planning packages.
  • Experience with engineering drawing packages, such as AutoCAD or Visio would be advantageous
  • Ideally have experience within engineering & installation arenas
  • Proven track record in technical documentation formatting and review processes
  • Ability to understand, manage and deliver tasks on time.
  • Ability to contribute technical knowledge to proposals and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage meetings and present plans to other ASN departments.
  • Innovative, creative and proactive with a solution-oriented approach
  • Full driving license and passport.

Applicants must have an existing right to live and work in the UK and be able to travel in and out of the country without restrictions. There will be some occasional travel but this is predominantly an office based position.

You will need to be living within a commutable distance to London or be prepared to relocate at your own expense for this position.
