Naval Architect / Compliance Engineer (Yachts) – Plymouth

I am looking for an individual with a creative background within the Naval Architect sector. Based in Plymouth our clients wants a hard working individual with the drive to deliver a high quality service to swiftly join their team and develop your career.

Main Responsibilities of role:

• Supporting your team and focusing on regulatory and technical requirements relevant to each model
• Making sure standards are kept high in a safe, pragmatic and cost-effective manner
• Being an ambassador completing tasks with integrity and drive towards the Company’s values.
• Supporting new models into the business, authoring drawings or other technical data demonstrating compliance to relevant rules and regulations
• Working with development & production teams on new builds coordinating weight control
• Protecting personnel and the yacht under assessment when conducting stability assessments
• Recording and submitting documents to demonstrate compliance with the Recreational Craft Directive
• Finding solutions to a variety of design challenges
• Continue to develop knowledge with rules, flag state and associated international standards to protect business interest.
• Must hit KPI’s and attend regular performance reviews for professional development

Essential skills:

• Excellent Microsoft Office suite
• Good knowledge of Siemens NX or similar software
• Worked with Maxsurf, Rhino 6 and siemens Teamcenter
• Can relay both regulatory and nautical terminology
• To understand the Recreational Craft Directive/Regulations associated ISO standard and international shipping regulations
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Good analytical, and organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure in busy environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate progress and targets
