Marine Personnel Officer – 12 month contract – Glasgow – Competitive salary

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable shipping company based in Glasgow on a 12 month contract. As Marine Personnel Officer you will be the first point of contact for seafarers and are responsible for ensuring that seafarers are appointed to the appropriate ships ensuring compliance with certification

Responsibilities Include:

• Interact closely with Marine Personnel Officers and take ownership of junior officer scheduling
• Ensure all officers joining vessels are in full compliance with statutory and company requirements with regard to certification and training
• Act as the team Marine HR partner for sea staff. Forge relationships with sea staff and be the ‘go to’ contact for all employee relations matters
• Arranging for support, maintenance and repatriation for crew members who have landed ashore for any reason
• Arrange and ensure relevant parties are made aware of new Hire orientation procedures and current sea staff visit requirements in local office
• Acknowledge resignation letters and conduct exit interview to establish the reason for leaving
• Participate in Ship Team emergency response team
• Contact for ‘After Office Hours’ for their respective Teams, as necessary

Experience required:

• Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner
• Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
• Knowledge and experience in the marine industry.
• Previous shore-based experience in a personnel / crewing role highly desirable

Must have right to live and work in the UK to be considered.
