Job Description as Competency Supervisor with Stork:
The objectives for the Competency Supervisor are to support the growth of the business by providing support to the Management Team this is to ensure repeatability and reproducibility of each of the Inspection discipline requirements within the business product line.
Tasks and Responsibilities as Competency Supervisor:
Operations
- Build and enforce positive team and client relationships, primarily for competency related matters.
- Responsible for ensuring on time delivery of departmental KPI’s, RFI’s and pathway reports.
- Ensuring continual data entry and review for accuracy.
- Expert knowledge of pathway to ensure all data is extracted and analyzed, daily, weekly and Monthly.
- Devising time schedules for Coordination to allow the Competency function to deliver on time reporting.
Reporting (Data Analysing)
- Creation of reporting templates to identify pertinent & relevant data and the ability to report it.
- Continual Data Analysis resulting in the receipt of added value information.
- Enhanced level of commercial awareness to be able to assess all financial information held within reports such as, demand reports, monitoring charged trends for top clients, interaction with other departments and clients’ presentations
- Provide support during Tenders and Bids for the department, supporting with completing technical questionnaires, providing charts and images, tender highlights.
- Accountability for Client Portal and provide support on IT Developments for the department.
- managing sensitive information
- Identifying areas for improvements & introducing changes when required for competency related guidelines and procedures.
- Client Interaction during performance reporting and clients’ meetings.
- Accountable for competency related departmental records.

Staff Management and Performance
- Support management team and ensure sufficient resources are in place to deliver departmental objectives.
- Provide support to team members and where required mentor & develop both individual and team performance.
- Responsible team member’s performance & development process. This includes a minimum of mid-year and end of year reviews.
- Ensure commercial & technical knowledge in developed and retained within team.
- Identify development opportunities for team members through utilising resources in a flexible manner and project related work.
- Support management on succession planning requirements within team.
- Manage employee’s annual leave through effective resource planning.
- Manage employee absence and liaise with HR to identify trends and where required identify intervention strategies.

Specific Requirements for the Competency Supervisor:
Education & Experience
Education
Essential
- GCSE Standard Grades or equivalent
- HNC/HND and/or prior experience within a similar environment
Desirable
- Supervisory Training
Experience and Skills
- Practical experience in the relevant discipline associated with the standard
- Effective interpersonal skills including coaching
- Knowledge and application of Business Operating procedures, including those of interface functions
- Effective identification, evaluation and resolution of problems
- Effective presentation and negotiation skills
- Effective identification of opportunities to develop related products and services
