Fleet Support Officer – Permanent – Glasgow – Competitive Package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading shipping company based in Glasgow.

Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with all members of the gas fleet, ship and shore, to enhance operational performance
• Support the Vessel Manager in all aspects of vessel operations
• Manage all aspects of Vessel’s procurement including quotation, purchasing, delivery and invoicing processes
• Manage all aspects of Vessel’s servicing requirements including scheduled, un-scheduled and items landed for repair
• Participate in the development, maintenance and tracking of the yearly plans that include dockings, capital modifications/upgrades, projects, major storing and long term asset management
• Monitor and ensure stock levels ship and shore are maintained including all short and long term warehousing activities
• Respond to feedback from external and internal customers to ensure consistent delivery of first class service and proactive resolution of any issues

Experience Required:

• Analytical, problem solving, time management and decision making skills
• Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner
• Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to use range of IT applications
• Purchasing experience working for a Ship Owner/Manager (highly desirable)
• Sea going experience as an engineer (Highly desirable)
