Marine Commissioning Technician – Permanent – Ipswich – Competitive (+Overtime)
Marine Commissioning Technician required for a globally renowned manufacturer of luxury motor yachts. Due to further expansion and a busy production schedule our client has an immediate vacancy to support the manufacture of their range of luxury motor yachts.
Commissioning Technician required to deliver the final product of Luxury Motor Yachts to the highest quality product for the dealer network whilst meeting strict dispatch deadlines.
The main responsibilities for this role are: –
- Completing the pre-delivery commissioning process in-line with both quality & manufacturing standards.
- Receiving and preparing new boats for launch and sea trials, ensuring personnel and product safety protocols are always followed.
- Providing support for product handovers and customer/dealer visits.
- Preparing product for business reviews and assessments as part of ongoing quality improvements and feedback for new product development.
- Assisting with new yacht audits and continuous feedback to business supporting all related departments.
- Completing re-work and finalisation preparations to required standards.
- Supporting post-production customisation work as required.
- Ensuring reporting systems/tools are kept up to date and achieve deadlines set.
- Attending field-based tasks worldwide, undertaking warranty and service activities as required.
- Supporting field audits of PDI and warranty issues as appropriate or upon request.
- Providing support for national and international boat shows and events as required.
- Attending meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
- Complying with and upholding Company policies and procedures.
- Undertake any additional tasks as required from time to time.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in marine finishing / boat building / shipwright.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to travel with valid passport and full driving licence.
- Excellent technical skills, providing a finish of the highest standards, with familiarity across the range of Fairline products (current and historic).
