Design Project Manager (Marine) required for a globally renowned manufacturer of luxury motor yachts. This is an exciting opportunity working within the design studio team, helping to drive improvements through a gateway process workflow, aiding an increase in the overall efficiency of the design team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for: –

• Project managing a number of projects within the Design studio. Responsible for ensuring that project tasks are clearly identified and tracked, with regular KPI status reporting.
• Ensure that all stakeholders are aware of potential project risks, and necessary corrective actions are clearly identified when required.
• You will be a key lead in the Design team, helping to drive improvements through a gateway process workflow, aiding an increase in the overall efficiency of the design team.
• Create and maintain planning reporting tools for each project to facilitate the management of resources, timelines, costs, deliverables, and regular reporting to the Design Manager and the Board.
• Prepare individual project budgets, support the design team annual business plans, funding requirements and present for approval of the Board and other key project stakeholders.
• Conduct regular Gateway and Project reviews with the relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth coordination of overall activities of the design team within relevant departments (including: Finance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, HR, Facilities, Sales & Marketing)
• Support the Management team and Project Sponsor to identify and define project scope, requirements and objectives.
• Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
• Assign responsibilities to project teams.
• Liaise with external contractors and suppliers where necessary to ensure timely project delivery.
• Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation, plans and reports are maintained appropriately for each project.
• Assess project risks, issues, and opportunities, whilst seeking to provide solutions and escalating where appropriate.
• Chair and facilitate project meetings, distribute minutes as appropriate, and follow up on important actions and decisions from the meetings.

Candidate Experience: –

• Degree level qualification.
• Previous project management experience.
• Design and practical experience in the yachting sector desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Knowledge of yacht production techniques and processes would be advantageous.
• A team worker and effective problem solver.
