At ARM Maritime we are looking for a Business Development and Account Manager specialising in Navies, on behalf of our client who are a leading classifications service provider with a strong reputation within the Maritime industry across the globe.
The background of the chosen candidate for this role should have experience at Officer or Senior level equivalent, within either the Dutch or Belgian navies. Your understanding of how the navy operate, and what challenges they specifically may face, will be largely influential on departmental business development.
For this role you will be utilising your knowledge and network to find solutions for existing naval clients and will lead initiatives to generate new business opportunities within the North of Europe. It is important that you are a team player, with the skills and ability to work in a global environment with colleagues from many different cultural backgrounds. This opportunity will also have direct focus on clients' needs, requirements and also challenges with a sound understanding of stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Identify partnership opportunities
- Develop new relationships in an effort to grow business and help company expand
- Strengthen and maximise existing client relationships
- Think critically when planning to assure project success
- Assist in building a strong company brand internationally, through marketing strategies.
- Work with other managers across Northern Europe and periodically travel to meet colleagues.
- Assist with specialised knowledge to win contracts with shipyards.
- Ensure the successful development of services, products and marketing & sales strategies, tailored to naval clients.
Requirements
- Previous Dutch or Belgian naval experience at a mid-senior level
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Proven ability to establish new, and nurturing existing client relationships
- Be target-driven, and able to work under pressure to produce results
- Commercial experience in a technical, naval environment
- Fluent in English

Location of role can be in either Rotterdam or Amsterdam.
Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications
Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
