General Manager

Seaworthy Consulting are looking for a General Manager to work at a successful Tug Marine Company in England. The role would involve managing and monitoring operations specifically identified by the Board of Directors and liaise with the relevant heads of department to ensure the operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. At the same time ensuring compliance with the company policies, strategies and objects selected by the Board of Directors is met.

Location – England, you may be required to travel abroad on occasions.

Responsibilities

As the General Manager you would need to draw on the expertise available within the functional teams to meet Company objectives. Need to work with operations, technical and crewing departments to co-ordinate tug manning through rota planning to maximise the Company’s ability to service client’s vessels in all operational Ports. Schedule regular meetings with Heads of Departments to determine operational status of the fleet and highlight any current or forthcoming issues. Then be able to circulate relevant information to the appropriate departments/locations. Always ensuring that defined level of safety and quality standards are adhered to. Liaise and agree LRQA external audit dates.

Previous Skills and Experience

• Communicate effectively both orally and in written form with both internal and external customers
• Maritime Industry experience
• Knowledge of vessel management
• Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
• Excellent people management skills
• Well organised, focused, and capable of achieving deadline
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other Software relevant to marine management
