Marine and Vetting Assistant (LNG) - Permanent - London - Competitive

A leading LNG shipping company with a global presence is recruiting for a Marine and Vetting Assistant to join the team in London.

Reporting to the Marine Manager, this role is primarily responsible for;

  • Booking SIRE Inspection/Flag State Inspections
  • Uploading documents for Remote SIRE Inspections
  • Reviewing relevance and arranging distribution of flag state circulars and port state notices to vessels
  • Taking charge of maintaining all admin tasks/documentation filings
  • Preparing documents for Vetting clearance of various Terminals
  • Performing Agency bookings (If requested)
  • Co-ordinating downloads and logistics for remote audits
  • Providing Senior Management with Vessel Condition reports
  • Reviewing vessels performance under supervision and ensuring follow up action
  • Monitoring results of all vetting and other audits and inspections. Ensuring follow-up on findings
  • Participating in Ship-Shore Emergency Drill and leading any task, as requested
  • Participating and leading Marine related projects and tasks under supervision of Marine Manager
  • Maintaining a spreadsheet for fleet vessel and follow up with Manager on Audit/Inspection schedules

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar capacity within the Shipping industry, along with a Degree in an industry related subject.

Sailing experience as a Deck Officer on LNG Vessels is highly advantageous.

You will have excellent written and verbal English skills, have strong inter-personal skills and be a good team player.

You will also be able to adapt to company software applications

To be considered for this role, you MUST be based in the UK/have the immediate right to live and work in the UK

All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications

Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
