Overview of Position

The Technical Manager is required to manage all technical and operational activities related to ship dry docking, overhauling, repairs, maintenance, and projects budgeting.

Job Description

  • Manage Technical Superintendents.
  • Responsible for the whole operational and technical tasks of the technical department.
  • Implementation of maintenance systems.
  • Appoint and manage subcontractors for vessel maintenance and services.
  • Conducting Company Quality/Health and Safety (OH&S/ISM) and Environmental Audits.
  • Introduce, adjust, and distribute procedures and work instructions that relates to technical matters.
  • Determine repair specifications for dry-docking, overhauling, maintenance, and surveys together with the most economical method to complete these.
  • Ensure proper up to date records are prepared during and on completion of dry-docking and repairs for actual and anticipated expenditure as well as quality of the works and products involved.

Requirements

  • Qualified as a Marine Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Naval Architect.
  • Previous work experience in the GCC countries is preferred.
  • Minimum experience of 12 years in a relevant role (offshore, ship management, ship building, dry docking, engine repair, vessel overhauls etc…)
  • Naval experience is preferable.
  • Expert in Hydro blasting/Hydro jetting operations
  • Experience in Dry ice blasting operations.
  • Expert in coatings and painting standards and methods.
  • Up to date and experienced with implementing the most advanced technologies that is used for inspection maintenance, and repair in his department.
  • Has solid background in the oil and gas and/or the industrial sector.

  • Company shall bear all governmental expenses related to the employee Annual Vacation of 30 Days.
  • Transportation shall be covered by the company (Company vehicle).
  • A KPI (yet to be determined) that is based on both the employee’s performance and the divisions overall performance and profitability
