Marine Surveyor (Materials and Marine Components) - Permanent - Rhine Ruhr region, Germany - Competitive
A leading Classification Society is currently recruiting for a Marine Surveyor to join the team in the Rhine-Ruhr region in Germany.
Working as part of a team of passionate professionals, key responsibilities will include;
- Assessing the design/production /in-service aspects of engineering assets using procedures, experience and knowledge appropriate for routine situations.
- Involvement in direct surveys of mechanical or electrical parts and components for the use in a maritime or industry environment.
- Involvement in direct surveys of mechanical or electrical parts and components at manufacturer's works and periodical or initial inspections of manufacturer's works
- Presenting the deliverables to the client and come up with solutions where needed
- Identifying additional business opportunities.
- Providing good control of projects, including communicating with clients, financial control and timely and accurate reporting.
The ideal candidate will be a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer and have previous experience within a Manufacturing or Classification Society setting.
You will have knowledge on vessel installations including but not limited to Main Propulsion Equipment and Components (Oil and Gas Engines, Gearing, Diesel-Electric Systems including the required Control Systems, Engine Auxiliary Systems and Components) and knowledge on materials (steel grades, castings, forgings etc).
You will have a Degree in an Engineering related subject and have a Welding qualification (EWE/IWE).
You will also have specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to optimise the application of existing and emerging technology.
Fluency in the German language, both written and verbal, is essential.
*You must have the right to live and work in the EU and reside in the Wetzlar - Siegen - Olpe areas in the Rhine Ruhr region to be considered for this role*
This is a home based position but the individual must have the ability and willingness to travel within Southern Gemany, Austria and Switzerland.

All applicants must have previous experience in working on ships.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
Certificates and Qualifications
Mandatory STCW certificates are required from all applicants.
