Ship Manager – Permanent – Kent – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established shipping company based in Kent.

As Ship Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day marine and technical management of the vessel

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the repair and maintenance budgets
• Responsible for compiling docking and maintenance specifications
• Maintaining spares stock in a cost effective and efficient manner
• You will act as both the Designated Person Ashore and the Company Security Officer
• You will also be involved in the welfare of the crew

Experience Required:

• You will hold a current valid STCW III/2 Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency
• Have minimum 3-5 years experience sailing as Chief Engineer
• Have at least 2 years experience as Fleet/Ship Manager/Supertintenent
• Knowledge of small vessel operations is preferable
• Must have sound knowledge of electrics
• Have experience managing a refit/dry dock
• You must be able to demonstrate previous experience of shipboard maintenance management systems
• You must understand financial reports and be experienced in both devising and managing budgets as well as being competent in budget analysis
