Area Sales Manager – EMEA

Navis Consulting have partnered with Hamilton Jet to recruit an Area Sales Manager.

Hamilton Jet are the world leading supplier of waterjet propulsion systems to a wide range of high-speed Work and Patrol boats, Fast ferries, Wind and Offshore crew boats, Fire and Ambulance boats, Fishery and Aquaculture vessels, Military and Recreational craft.

The area sales manager will take control of the distributor management in their designated region with the following responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the General Manager EMEA and the Marketing Manager based in Christchurch New Zealand, develop a distributor Partnership Plan for each of the existing distributors in the region.
  • Responsibility for implementing and monitoring the distributor partnership plans.
  • Working with the distributor, sales, service and administrative staff to ensure they understand the objective of the Partnership program and are prepared to commit to the Plan in their areas of responsibility.
  • Measuring the distributor progress on a regular basis, at least quarterly.
  • Report the progress to the General Manager, Marketing Manager and the Group Sales & Marketing Manager
  • Intervening when and where necessary to ensure the plan in adhered to.
  • Cancellation of distributor agreement where necessary
  • Conduct search and selection programs for new distributors in both new and established regions and once completed arrange the appropriate training by drawing on the resource of the paired area support manager.
  • The ASM will have a close relationship with their paired Area Support Manager based in Christchurch.
  • The ASM will “pull” the involvement of the Area Support Manager into the region.
  • The Area Support Manager will have the following responsibilities to support the ASM.
    • Whole of product life interaction between the customer and the factory. Activities include:
      • Technical sales support
      • Arranging factory support
      • Warranty / Complaint resolution (product and commercial)
      • Debtor control
      • Delivery quotations
      • Order entry (including specification finalisation)
      • Payment terms
      • Distributor training
      • Managing distributor promotional support (in conjunction with the ASM)
      • Overall responsibility for spares sales in the territory
      • Regional team back-up

To be considered for this position you must be able to demonstrate previous technical marine sales experience. It is essential that you have excellent organisation skills throughout the process of Distributor management, Sales, after sales and managing key relationships. The role will include a mix of home based, office based and international based working.
