Job Description as Stores & Packing Supervisor with Stork:

To support and carry out the routine and ad-hoc work processes of the stores and packing department. 

All employees may be required to undertake differing or additional tasks to those detailed within this job description, on the proviso that they are within the reasonable skills, experience and knowledge of the employee.

Tasks and Responsibilities as Stores & Packing Supervisor:

Ensure efficient operation and control of the Stores function

  • Ensure strict adherence to Aviation (Air Cargo) operational and security guidelines.
  • Forward plan, by close liaison with Stores & Packing Supervisor, to ensure materials and ancillary items can support planned production and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure that material and consumables are issued on a first in/first out basis.
  • Ensure that all stores goods inward and goods outwards documentation is accurate and compiled in accordance with required specification.
  • Liaise with key internal and external personnel to ensure that relevant export control processes and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Monitor and limit the wastage or damage of materials and consumables within the Stores area.

Ensure efficient & legally compliant packing function

  • Ensure that all items are packed in accordance with company, client or regulatory body guidelines and policy.
  • Liaise with key internal and external personnel to ensure that relevant export control and corporate governance processes and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Liaise with the Shipping co-ordinator to ensure items are shipped in line with current regulation and company policy.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Aviation (Air Cargo) operational and security guidelines.
  • Forward plan, by close liaison with Stores & Packing Supervisor, to ensure packing capacity and packing type can support planned production and delivery schedules.  

Maintain safe working environment within Stores Area

  • Carries out manual handling duties strictly within the guidelines and stipulations in place, ensuring adherence to training and task risk assessments at all times.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and organisation of a safe and efficient work area within the Stores and Packing environment, complying with 5S/6S standards as appropriate.
  • Particular scrutiny of fire and security risks.
  • Be aware of local health and safety changes/instructions arising from departmental tool-box talks.
  • Ensure all equipment (Fork/Reach truck, mobile steps and platforms, packing equipment including saws, staple guns, foam packing system) are operated within appropriate HSE guidelines and that manufacturers and/or Company operating instructions and task risk assessments are complied with at all times.
  • Conduct daily area inspection and safety walkabout.

Support & Maintain Known Consignor (Air Cargo) Accreditation

  • Assists the Stores & Packing Supervisor in maintaining appropriate designated secure area for finished goods requiring air freighting.
  • Assists the Stores & Packing Supervisor in ensuring that any access to the secure area is appropriate and within regulatory requirements.

Maintain and support the critical integrity of general Stores Area

  • Support and contribute to improvements in regards to arrangements for elimination of fire, theft, loss and damage.

Remains flexible to the needs of the business

  • Undertakes reasonable ad-hoc or routine duties as directed by line manager.

Specific Requirements for the Stores & Packing Supervisor:

Education

  • Good standard of general education with particular emphasis on literacy, numeracy and handwriting to support document control accuracy.

Experience

  • Essential RTITB accredited licence in Counter-Balance Fork/Reach Truck.
  • Previous experience within a stores/warehouse environment.
