Job Description as Workshop Supervisor with Stork:

To support in the overall delivery of the Group’s business objectives, whilst implementing departmental procedures in line with Company standards.

This role requires interaction with internal colleagues of various levels, external parties and clients within the offshore industry.

Tasks and Responsibilities as Workshop Supervisor:

Servicing. Maintenance & Testing

  • Focal Point for co-ordination and processing of all workshop activities.
  • Primarily responsible for day-to-day resource management and associated planning and scheduling for workshop department.
  • Responsible for the allocation of work and subsequent final quality inspection.
  • Responsible for ensuring that accurate maintenance records are maintained.
  • Servicing and maintenance of units.
  • General plant & equipment maintenance, in accordance with procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Function checking of all plant & equipment.
  • Responsible for the compilation of certification packs including operators’ instructions and ensuring they are valid.
  • Actively participate and contribute in the day-to-day interface between Operations, Supply Chain and R-Plant.
  • Responsible for ensuring that customer and company deliverables are met.
  • Responsible for the management and accuracy of stock levels inclusive of spares and the completion of routine audits on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist with the management and recall of all out of certification plant items.
  • Responsible for assisting in the disposals/disinvestments programme for redundant plant and equipment. 
  • Assist with the visual inspection of all plant, equipment and ancillary equipment (both company owned and 3rd party) prior to mobilisation.
  • Assist with PUWER & LOLER compliance and ensuring that all is in accordance to applicable legislation.

  • Attend & contribute to health and safety training and briefs.
  • Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety.
  • Contribute to a culture of HSEQ improvement.
  • Support quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Execute work safely and reliably and to a quality standard.
  • Ensure you are adequately trained to carry out the job.

People

  • Develop others skills and experience.

Recording

  • Assist with the compilation of check sheets, to facilitate stores manifesting.
  • Assist with ensuring that accurate inspection records are maintained.
  • Assist with the compilation of certification packs including operators’ instructions, and ensuring that all are valid.

Specific Requirements for the Workshop Supervisor

Education & Experience

Education

Essential:

  • GCSE, Higher education or experience commensurate with the role and have demonstrated an appropriate level of technical competence.
  • Time served diesel mechanic with excellent product knowledge and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in comparable role.

Desirable:

  • PUWER & LOLER
  • COSHH & Manual Handling
  • Task Risk Assessment
  • Forklift
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Product Specific Training
  • ATEX Training

Experience

Essential: 

  • Experience in a similar role.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Knowledge of range of services Stork does and can provide to the client.

Additional Requirements

  • Potentially offshore travel, as required
