Technical Service Engineer (Marine Fuels)

Technical Service Engineer EMEA (Marine Fuels) – Permanent – £Negotiable

A Technical Service Engineer is required for a leading global chemicals business with operations across 23 countries.
The Technical Service Engineer will ideally have a background within the Marine or Chemicals industries with experience of supporting the sales team with field trials and client requests for technical information.

Key Responsibilities

• Support customer technical service requirements of Marine
• Co-ordinate/support and perform field trials, monitor results and report back to the Technical Service Manager
• Technical advisor for product use and applications with regards to engine and marine fuel specifics.
• Literature work, technical notes, bulletins & also technical articles for publication
• Project work
• Continuous support to sales & customer visits
• Follow regional legislation (for example EU & country specifics) as well as IMO activities.
• Support marine fuel analysis & HFO evaluation work
• Generate knowledge about all marine fuel grades including HFO/bunker as well as MDO/MGO and become a Marine oil specialist.
• Understanding of HFO Residual fuel oil properties and performance

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified to degree level or equivalent relevant experience
• Excellent numeracy and communication skills, oral, written and presentational.
• Confident presenter comfortable with delivering often complex data.
• Some understanding of current and future relevant legislation would be an advantage.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Role involves use of significant initiative, product understanding and retrieval and collation of information from several locations.
• Excellent communication skills, oral, written and presentational
• Networking skills in technical and business arenas.
