Job description

Job Description as Technical Authority – Electrical with Stork:

To ensure all operations pertinent to their area of authority (Electrical) are completed in full compliance with relevant HSE, legislation, industry standards, company procedures and client requirements. This will also include developing new innovations, products and services to meet the client requirements, engaging with the supply chain and monitoring the market competition.

Note: The role of the Technical Authority – Electrical may be an additional role and responsibilities from an operational role.

HSEQ
Attend & contribute to health and safety training and briefs.
Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety.
Contribute to a culture of HSEQ improvement.
Support quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Execute work safely and reliably and to a quality standard.
Ensure you are adequately trained to carry out the job.

Technical
Provision of Continuous Improvement including the following:
Interfacing with regulatory and independent verification bodies and participate in industry initiatives as required
Accountable for ensuring continuous learning within the discipline, including the development of case studies and an active role in investigations.
Manage innovation and emerging technology development
Knowledge transfer within Stork or external
Engage with the Supply chain or Academia for new technologies or methods
Development of manpower to deliver the product or service
Coordinate activities with client Technical Authorities

Provision of Technical Assurance including the following:
Ensure knowledge levels are maintained with current legislation and governing bodies.
Provide technical input and assurance for workpacks, risk assessment, investigations, management of change reviews and project reviews.
Competency and Training Standards
Design and or Constructability Reviews
Compliance Audits for Company and Client processes and procedures.
Company Accreditations.
Supply Chain Audits / Reviews / Approval of Products or Services

Provision of Technical Support including the following:
Technical Support for complex work scopes.
Introduce a proactive (not reactive) approach in providing specialist technical support to both onshore, offshore and clients.
Provision of technical expertise for technology used and the operation of the equipment and/or systems in area of responsibility.
Provision of technical expertise and leadership for any defects which may occur during the use of the equipment which may result in a failure or deficiencies in the operation of the equipment.
Provision of technical expertise and guidance for the significance of deviations found with regards to the normal use of the equipment and the operation of the processes.

Training
Responsible for training and development of manpower, as well as setting the competence standards within area of responsibility.
Ensure all training is appropriate and complies with relevant standards.
To support the company in the recruitment and development of a suitable and competent workforce.
Attend pre-project briefs to understand client requirements.

Documentation
To review and update processes and procedures applicable to their area of authority.
To create, review and update all processes and procedures.
Maintain a working knowledge of all code, standards and regulations.
Retain accurate records of work undertaken.
Assist in any tenders, reviews and audits.
Appropriate checking and approval process of technical documentation.

Specific Requirements for the Technical Authority – Electrical:

Education

  • Degree qualified in appropriate discipline. 
  • Chartered Engineer, as per the Engineering Council, is desirable or maybe required for certain roles. 

Experience

  • Expert level of experience to cover the requirments of the role within the product line

Additional Requirements

  • Potentially offshore travel, as required
