Position Description:

The client’s Marine Department is seeking a highly competent Captain with Class I Unlimited Master Certificate of Competency, from a recognized Marine Academy or Nautical College, to serve in command of Marine vessels (Jack-up Barges/Floaters) performing a variety of deck and navigational duties necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the Saudi Aramco owned fleet, as a skilled and certified Master. The work schedule will be 42/21 work/vacation relief with company paid travel and vacation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate preparation of the project proposal, including development and analysis of alternates
  • Present or participate in presenting the project proposal to proponents and other interested organizations at technical meetings within Saudi Aramco. And following the resolution of problems, secure project proposal approvals.
  • Supervise, coordinate and direct preparation of budget briefs, budget estimates, expenditure requests, economic analysis and authorizations for expenditures.
  • Coordinate the preparation of contracts, technical information and other information required for the award of design, project management and construction contracts.
  • Supervise and coordinate overall planning, control and appraisal of the project as defined by the approved scope.
  • Ensure that designs meet Saudi Aramco standards and specifications and that alternate designs or changes are economical, operable and meet safety, maintenance and schedule requirements.
  • Responsible for compliance to project controls and administration guidelines/procedures, including those related to cost control and forecasting, planning and scheduling, contract administration and materials control, during project execution.
  • Responsible for maintaining project records, including drawings, specifications, logs, financial reports and project correspondence.
  • Approve contract payment and variations within limits of their authority; endorse

To be considered for the role, you must have:

- A.l Must have completed the Aramco Marine Training program successfully passing the practical and theoretical examinations to possess a certificate of competency for Captain 2000 ton vessel. OR
- A.2 Completion of diploma in nautical studies from the Arab Maritime Transport Academy or UK Nautical College. Must hold a Ist Class Certificate of competency as Unlimited Master. OR
- A.3 Must possess an Unlimited Master's license for any gross tons any ocean as issued by recognized authority.
• B.l (A.l) 14 years experience including 9 years at sea one of which while serving as Captain 1000 ton vessel.
- B.2 (A.2) Nine years experience including 6 years at sea 4 of which as a watch keeping officer.
- B.3 (A.3) Must have six years experience as Master, three of which preferably on offshore oil industry vessels.
- C.l (A.l) Completion of ERW and MI.
- C.2 (A.2) Test for English and Math proficiency necessary to accomplish
- A.2. C.3 (A.3) English and math sufficient to accomplish
- A.3. D. Must be familiar with offshore maintenance operations. -Computer literate.
