Marine Superintendent (Mooring Operations) – Permanent – SW Wales – Competitive package

This is an excellent opportunity to join an International shipping company and an industry leader in its field.

Reporting to the Port Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, direction & control of all operational activities within the mooring department.

Responsibilities include:

• To monitor and control the operating budget to ensure that all resources are deployed effectively and ensuring it is running at optimal operational efficiency;
• To manage all mooring and line boat operational issues in line with the customer contract
• Assist the Port Manager in business development/sales activities including the preparation of commercial / business development opportunities;
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and regulatory demands;
• Manage and be accountable for the crews on a daily basis within the operation, including the overall management of the roster through the shift supervisors, the performance and attendance of all crew;
• Working with the Training Department to ensure that all crews have up to date certification;
• Manage relationships with local unions

Experience Required:

• Previous management experience within a marine environment
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety within the marine industry
• Tug, towage, mooring experience is highly desirable
• Experience managing budgets
• Excellent communications skills at all levels
• Experience working with / dealing with unions is highly desirable
• UK drivers license

This role is based in SW Wales, if you do not already live in commutable distance you must be prepared to relocate. You must have the right to live and work in the UK to be considered
